Wolf flashcard
Soft toy
NB! Please make sure you have another teacher present to help manage this students. Avoid letting too many students play at once. Separating boys and girls is a good option.
Step 1
Review the key vocabulary and make sure the students pronounce the words correctly before playing.
Step 2
Demonstrate the rules of the game with your a TA. Stand at one end of the classroom and let your TA stand at the opposite side.
Step 3
Reveal the first flashcard and let the TA repeat after you. Once the TA repeats the key vocabulary they can take one step forward.
Step 4
Go through the flashcards and repeat the process.
Step 4
Once the TA gets close to you, reveal the wolf flashcard and chase them with the flashcard / soft toy.
This game works well when learning sentences. Each step = one word of the sentence.
eg. I like apples = 3 steps
Note: Do not just say "I like apples" and then let the students take three steps. The point is for them to enunciate each word. We would recommend repeating each word a few times before taking a step forward.
Step 5
Let the students have a try. Call a few students in small groups to avoid accidents.
Use this game to heighten the mood or tire out a rowdy class.
If the students aren't following your instructions, send them back to the starting position.
