Collect the blocks
Aim: This game was designed to make rote learning fun by racing while repeating the key language. The game works well with new words or sentences.

Materials
Flashcards relating to the lesson
Container , 6-8 blocks
Step 1
Teach the new vocabulary
Let each student run to the front to tap the flashcard and say the word.
Step 2
Split the blocks into two rows and ask your TA to demonstrate.
Step 2 - Demonstrate
Demonstrate by repeating the key vocabulary.
Begin by picking up the blocks.
Once all the blocks are collected throw them into the container / box which is at the starting position.
Repeat the vocabulary when the blocks are in the container.
Step 3 - Begin the game
Call students up in pairs to play.
Elicit the key vocabulary.
Once the students repeat the key vocabulary you can give them the signal to collect the blocks.
Guide them to the container after the blocks are collected.
Let the students repeat the key vocabulary one last time.
Step 4
Let the other students try.
