Do you feel like you are losing track of your goals? Here are a few guidelines that will help you stay on top of things.

1. Write down your goals

By writing down your goals you are manifesting them into the physical world. It's the first step in making your goals official as you formalize them in a written form. Why formalize a goal? When you formalize a goal you're going to take them more seriously than one that you are internalizing.

2. Goals must be specific, measurable, and realistic

How are you supposed to know what your goals are if you don't exactly know what they are? There's no time for ambiguity in the business world and the same applies to your goals. Have an exact goal in mind that is realistic and in line with your daily life.

3. Make a mental picture

You have to visualize your success every day. No one hits a target by looking in the opposite direction. Keep your eye on the prize and you will achieve your goals.

4. Break goals down into smaller goals

This is known as chunking. Chunking helps with organization and time management. Chunking is a method of breaking down larger tasks into smaller more manageable parts.

5. List the activities to be performed to achieve each goal

Once you have a list, you can sequence the tasks for efficiency. This task list will simulate a business process. Checking the tasks off as you complete them gives you a motivational sense of gratification. Don't forget to set due dates to stay on track!

6. Monitor your progress daily

If you don't monitor your progress you may not feel motivated to continue, leaving your tasks unfinished and your goals left behind. It's important to see if anything has changed on a daily basis as you could use this information to better your strategies going forward.

7. Be persistent

Persistence is key! Don't give up on your goals and dreams. Anything is possible if you stay positive and persistent. Put in the hours and you will eventually reap the rewards. Rome wasn't built in a day and neither will your goals.
